Genesis & Mandate
The Panchayati Raj Department in East Siang District functions under the framework of the Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act (as amended) and the 73rd Constitutional Amendment Act of India.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the Panchayati Raj system operates as a two-tier model comprising the Zilla Parishad at the district apex level and the Gram Panchayats at the village cluster level. The District Panchayati Raj Office (DPRO), working under the overall supervision of the Deputy Commissioner / District Panchayat Development Officer (DPDO), facilitates administrative, technical, and financial devolution to grassroots rural bodies.

- Financial Transparency: Social audit of 15th Finance Commission Tied and Untied grants.
